Welcome back to

Greenhill Grammar School

build2This web site has been owned, authored and maintained, on a hobby basis since 2007 by Ken Rodgers and Kevin Dronsfield, who were educated at Greenhill Grammar School Oldham between 1954 and 1962.

It was originally conceived to serve ex-pupils and staff of that school, but we have found that to be an over simplification.

The building, on the lower part of Greengate St, was used to house several school identities between 1900 and 1966 as the Oldham education system developed.

building1954In tracing the origins of the school, we are now aware that Greenhill was the result of an evolution which ran through several prior schools in the borough, namely:-

          Oldham Municipal High School

             West Oldham High School

             East Oldham High School

            Greenhill Grammar School

We therefore prefer now to think of this site as serving ex-members of all those.

building1989The site comprises two main parts:-

The Main Menu section, which serves through the Discussion Boards, frequent reunions and personal contacts to maintain links between ex-members of the school.

The Archive/Reference Sections of photographs, documents and memorabilia from the time, and in particular a comprehensive Photo Site which catalogues and presents many old photographs in a very comprehensive manner.

buildingBG1989Membership is open to all who attended or taught at the school
