| I wonder what would happen If folks like you and me Decided we would go on strike, What a terrible fuss there'd be. The Head and all the teachers Would be in such a stew, Then perhaps they would appreciate And think of all we do. Who'd answer all the questions That we get asked each day? Who'd answer all their questions And lines of Shakespeare say? Who'd tell them theorems one and two Who'd analyse H2SO4. All these things we have to do But yet they ask for more. Five days of every week we slave All through each term and yet Receive no thanks at all, And not one penny do we get! Now, really, can you wonder that We feel inclined to shirk, When grown-ups say "You're lucky, WE HAVE TO GO TO WORK !" |
