In the various sporting events of the year both the boys and girls have made a good effort. The boys again retained the Handforth Cup for cricket, cross-country running and football.
Although the girls did their utmost they only managed to come second against stiff opposition. However, the margin has been narrowed considerably.
We only just failed this year winning the swimming gala and house sports by very few points; perhaps next year it will be our turn to hold these honours.
We are sorry to lose Mr. Quarmby who is leaving us to go to a Theological College at Cambridge. The house extends to him best wishes for the future.
In conclusion we should like to thank all the house staff for their continued assistance and help.
