Girls' Games Report1964-65

The teams have worked very hard this year and have given up much of their valuable time during their dinner hours for practices, and it was unfortunate that this year's hockey season was harassed by many cancelled matches.  Those played were mixed with success and failure.  The senior hockey rally this year was held at Chadderton Grammar School for girls and our team made a fine effort to come second in their section.  The juniors were very disappointed that their rally, which was to have been held at Liverpool, was cancelled because of poor weather conditions.

Only two netball matches were played, one of them being a triangular against Counthill and Hathershaw at Counthill. However, success evaded our teams on both occasions.

The rounders and tennis teams have not had much success either, but examinations and shortage of numbers due to holidays have caused much of their failure.  Even so, all the games were entered into with enjoyment, and, although the girls' efforts have produced no outstanding victories, they should be praised for their endeavour and high spirits.

It is hoped to rectify these failures in the future and let us wish the future teams the best of luck in all their activities.
