As you all presumably are aware, there are a number of advantages to using an LCD monitor rather than an "old fashioned" Cathode Ray Tube. However, there is one well-known disadvantage, and that is that the front of the screen is made from quite a soft plastic rather than glass. Sure, it doesn't crack and break, it's very much lighter, etc, but one really does need to be careful when touching or cleaning them - it's so easy to scratch them, make an indentation, etc.
Asus have started to manufacture a monitor (model LS201 ) which they claim uses a crystal-sapphire front panel, and is therefore claimed to be much more resistant to physical abuse.
Quite how resistant is perhaps best illustrated in this video by a Bulgarian test team. Many of you will perhaps not understand the commentary(!), but I reckon that the pictures say it all
