Vince Bottomley's 1,000 yd. Record

I've been very remiss with this one.

Vince and Pat were both at our reunion in January, and I asked Vince if it was OK to link to some of his stuff from our site here. He was quite happy that we should do so, but I forgot all about it until we saw Pat again at the July do (Vince was shooting in Sweden!)
I've now put things to rights.

Vince has always been a Target Sports man. In fact, he's very much an expert on the subject, and his articles are widely read.
In particular, a couple of years ago, Vince was having difficulty finding a new gun which was accurate enough for his requirements over a 1,000 yd. range. He solved the problem - he made one!
He then proceeded to break the U.K. record at 1,000 yds by putting 5 rounds inside a 2.866" circle from 1,000 yds at the Delph range.

I doubt that you can see what he's shooting at in this picture. The targets are just in front of that tiny brown field, way across the valley, towards the top and on the extreme right of the picture.

It didn't stop there.
A month later, there was some bad news and some good news.
The bad news was that his record was broken, and taken down to 2.670".....

... but the good news was that it was Vince Bottomley that did it - he broke his own record!
